The Tandem is built on a rock solid platform that has covered more than a million miles since it’s creation. Customised by hand in our Suffolk workshop, we extend the chassis and strengthen the load-bearing areas of the scooter. This means we can give the scooter a guarantee you can rely on – we’re proud of our work and we know you’ll love it too.

The rear seat of the Tandem has been specially designed to allow the transport of users who are otherwise unable to operate a mobility vehicle by themselves. Featuring a full captain’s seat that includes lap strap and swivel function, it’s easy to climb onto and climb from the vehicle. The seating position gives good visibility for rear passengers, and makes for a comfortable and relaxing ride.

How fast does it go?

The Tandem is a Class 3 Vehicle. This mobility scooter has two speed modes; Low (up to 4mph) for use on the pavements and High (up to 8mph), to be selected when driving on the road.

Do I need a driving licence or to pay road tax?

Mobility scooters are not legally defined as vehicles and therefore you do not need a driving licence or to pay road tax. You still need to register your Tandem with the DVLA by completing a simple application form. This is included in the Welcome Pack. You must also be 14 years of age or older to legal operate the vehicle.

Do I need to register my Tandem with the DVLA?

The Tandem is not subject to Vehicle Excise Duty (‘road tax if used off road’). However, all new and used Class 3 vehicles including the Tandem must be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

Do I need to insure my mobility scooter?

Although it is not a legal requirement, we strongly recommended that you hold a valid comprehensive mobility scooter insurance policy. These polices cover your personal safety, other people’s safety, costs towards accidental damage and the value of your mobility scooter.

Can I test drive the Tandem before making a purchase?

Yes you can test drive the Tandem prior to making a purchase. Please contact our team to discuss your inquiry in more detail, and we'll be able to inform you as to when a trial is available.
