About the Solo Profiling Bed
If you or your loved one requires advanced care at home, the Solo profiling floor bed is a great solution. The Solo has an incredibly low floor height which makes it suitable for persons with Dementia and other cognitive conditions. The Solo is classed as a floor bed which gives a safe sleeping height and reduces the risk of injury from bed falls. The profiling bed has an ‘all-in-one’ height range where the whole bed can raise up to waist level, and lower down to the floor.
The Solo Profiling bed eliminates fall injuries with the incredibly low floor height of just 11cm, reducing the need for side rails and making the Solo ideal for residents with dementia. The Solo bed can be raised up to 73.5cm for delivering on bed nursing care and is also designed to allow for unrestricted hoist access.
The Solo's advanced auto-regression profiling technology prevents stomach compression and enhances user comfort.
Accommodate taller users with an additional 20cm of length with the Solo's integral length extension.
The Solo's Anti-Trendelenburg feature provides postural support, enhanced comfort and helps respiration and circulation.
The Solo Collection features unrestricted clearance beneath the bed, this makes it much easier for hoist leg access.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
When would someone require a floor bed?
The Solo is designed to accommodate users who are vulnerable and at risk of falls from the bed. The ultra-low floor height provides a safer sleeping height, and rather than a direct fall from the bed, it provides a roll-type motion. People with medical conditions such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s can benefit from the Solo as it is safe and doesn’t require side rails to keep a person in bed.
Can you have a handle or loop at the side of the bed to help the user in and out of bed?
If a handle or loop is needed at the side of the bed to assist with getting in and out then we can supply the bed with a grab rail which can fit on either side of the bed in the desired position. (See accessories above)
Can the side rails be operated by the user in bed?
The wooden side rails can only be operated by somebody outside of the bed, they can either be left in the drop down position to the side of the bed or in the raised position to prevent someone from falling out of bed.
Does this bed come with side rails?
The Opera Solo Profiling Bed is available with or without side rails. As the bed lowers to a floor level height, some users do not require the side rails as it is more of a roll out of bed rather than a fall. When not in use, the side rails drop down out of the way and act as a wooden side to the bed.
Does this bed come with a mattress?
No, all beds come without mattresses, and mattress need to be purchased separately. This is due to the variety of mattresses offering different pressure relief or comfort firmness rating to suit different users.
