Does this bed come with a mattress? No, all mattresses are sold separately due to each person having different pressure care needs and preferred firmness. However, we have a range of different mattresses available with something suitable for everyone.

Does this bed come with side rails?
The Signature Upholstered Profiling Bed is available with or without side rails. As the bed lowers to a low height, some users do not require the side rails. When not in use, the side rails drop down out of the way and act as a wooden side to the bed.
What happens to my profiling bed during a power cut?
In the event of a power cut, the profiling beds have a 29v battery back-up which has enough power to get the bed back into a flat position.
Can you have a handle or loop at the side of the bed to help the user get in and out?
If a handle or loop is needed at the side of the bed to assist with getting in and out then we can supply the bed with a grab rail that can fit on either side of the bed in the desired position. Please see the accessories tab above.
Can the side rails be operated by the user in the bed?
The wooden side rails can only be operated by somebody outside of the bed, they can either be left in the drop-down position to the side of the bed or in the raised position to prevent someone from falling out of bed.
Is this bed available in a double width?
The Signature Upholstered Profiling is not available in a double width. The reason for this is if the user requires on-bed nursing by carers outside of the bed, this width would put a strain on the carers backs having to reach over.
