About the Signature Upholstered Profiling Bed
The Signature Upholstered is a practical and stylish profiling bed to support care needs at home. With the addition of a padded head and footboard, the Signature Upholstered adds a homely touch to any bedroom. The bed has the same advanced features as our Signature bed. This includes an all-in-one height range, where the whole bed raises up to waist level and lowers down close to the floor.
The Signature Upholstered offers a range of comfortable positions from the elevating back and leg rest, perfect for those with limited mobility or struggling to get comfortable in a regular bed.
The Signature Upholstered bed is height adjustable for nursing and access. The bed has an extensive height range that allows it to be lowered close to the floor and raised to a carer's waist level. The user of the signature can sit up in bed by raising the backrest and elevate their legs/feet by raising the leg rest. The profiling mattress platform is electrically operated through a handset control.
The bed has padded and upholstered head/foot boards that ensure comfort and style. The upholstery helps to give the bed a warm, homely appearance and provides a soft surface without detracting from the bed's medical functionality.
The bed is controlled through a premium handset with rounded edges and soft touch buttons. A locking feature also, that allows the operator to disable certain functions ensuring maximum safety.
The bed can accommodate mattresses of up to 8" in depth whilst remaining fully compliant with care home bed rail regulations. This eliminates the need for extension height side rails and/or with deep air flow mattresses.
Finally, the signature upholstered can be specified with full-length wooden side rails. The rails can be easily raised and lowered by a carer or somebody outside of the bed to help prevent falls and provide a safe sleeping environment.

Does this bed come with a mattress? No, all mattresses are sold separately due to each person having different pressure care needs and preferred firmness. However, we have a range of different mattresses available with something suitable for everyone.

Does this bed come with side rails?
The Signature Upholstered Profiling Bed is available with or without side rails. As the bed lowers to a low height, some users do not require the side rails. When not in use, the side rails drop down out of the way and act as a wooden side to the bed.
What happens to my profiling bed during a power cut?
In the event of a power cut, the profiling beds have a 29v battery back-up which has enough power to get the bed back into a flat position.
Can you have a handle or loop at the side of the bed to help the user get in and out?
If a handle or loop is needed at the side of the bed to assist with getting in and out then we can supply the bed with a grab rail that can fit on either side of the bed in the desired position. Please see the accessories tab above.
Can the side rails be operated by the user in the bed?
The wooden side rails can only be operated by somebody outside of the bed, they can either be left in the drop-down position to the side of the bed or in the raised position to prevent someone from falling out of bed.
Is this bed available in a double width?
The Signature Upholstered Profiling is not available in a double width. The reason for this is if the user requires on-bed nursing by carers outside of the bed, this width would put a strain on the carers backs having to reach over.
