The A08L is part of the Freedom Chair Electric Wheelchair range which offer its users the very best performance. With superior ride comfort due to its thickly padded seat, as well as it's substantial and stable frame, the A08L is a chair that will be perfect for those who are looking to have a reliable, comfortable and practical electric wheelchair, suitable for their everyday needs.
The A08L is a high quality and high-performance chair that will be more that suitable for those wanting a chair that not only feels good but also looks good. With its 12.5" all terrain rear wheels, the A08L is capable of tackling rougher terrain, giving the user more freedom and adventure.
All Freedom Chair models can be easily folded in just seconds. The compact design, combined with a lightweight aluminium frame, makes them easy to transport by car or plane. Storage space required inside an apartment or cruise ship cabin is minimal.
The A08L comes with the option of having 3 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries fitted, giving you three times the power and range. Each battery has a range of up to 9 miles, so with three batteries, 27 miles may be possible depending on terrain and user weight. An adaptor cable is included for off-board charging. Therefore, if you're wanting a chair that will give you not only the confidence that you are going to be safe and comfortable whilst using, but also a chair that is always going to get you home, then the A08L could be the chair that suits you.
This powered chair will turn on its own axis making it much easier to use than a mobility scooter in restricted areas, such as retail spaces and lifts. Steering with the joystick is very intuitive and can be left or right-handed. For side transfers into and out of your seat, there is a handy flip-up function on both armrests, also very useful for clearing the joystick when drawing up to tables.
Freedom Chairs have a built-in USB charging port under the joystick so you can top up your smart phone on the move. Particularly handy when using battery intensive navigation apps. Additionally, for your safety, there is a bright LED light that can be turned on to light your path ahead.

Can I transfer the joystick on to the left hand side?
The joystick is interchangeable, meaning that you can have the joystick mounted on either the left or right hand side.
When the attendant control is fitted at the rear, does it disable user's joystick sitting in the chair?
If you require a rear attendant joystick to take over the control, then yes, when the attendant joystick is turned on, the person sitting in the chair cannot use their joystick. You can also simply detach the user's joystick.
Can I take this on a plane or a cruise?
Yes, the DE08L is both airline friendly and cruise friendly.
I want to purchase another battery, can this be done at a later point?
Yes, you don't need to purchase additional batteries at the point of order. Should later down the line you require more batteries to increase the range, we stock and can supply them to you. Please not that you will need to make use of your battery connector that will have been supplied new with your chair. If you have lost the battery connector, you can purchase an additional one from us also.
Can I take the batteries off the A08L to charge?
Yes, the lightweight lithium batteries can be detached off the chair to allow the user the ability to carry just the battery inside to charge, rather than the whole chair.
I want to have confidence when driving on uneven and rougher surfaces, will the A08L tackle these types of terrain?
The A08L Freedom chair is one of the market leaders for high performance, being able to tackle a lot of terrains from woodlands, grass, uneven surfaces, hills, cambers, cobbles etc. If you're looking for a powerchair which offers comfort, performance and has the ability to travel far, then the A08L is a great choice.
Is the A08L heavy, I want to put this in and out of my car?
The A08L does have some weight to it, weighing around 28.5 Kg. This means that should the person who may be doing the folding and the physical lifting have any mobility issues themselves, or lack the strength
